Vegan Parmesan

I assumed that the wheaty, buttery, cheesiness of our November pasta would essay a duo every bit good far but, nether Cindy's instructions, it turned out to hold upwardly relatively simple. All it took were 3 fairly uncomplicated substitutions: 1) the pasta (courtesy of the fresh pasta stall at the Queen Vic Markets), 2) the butter (Nuttelex of course), in addition to 3) the parmesan.

The parmesan seemed trickiest to me, but Wanting Kneading had the answer. It's a really uncomplicated recipe that takes all of ninety seconds to throw together. You don't halt upwardly amongst a specially parmesan-y flavour, but a one-half a loving cup stirred through our pasta added a garlicky cheesiness that was non at all out of place. Our vegan gf version of this pasta was a really passable faux of the basic recipe - the pasta wasn't quite every bit squeamish (and wasn't specially cheap), but otherwise everything hitting the spot.


Vegan parmesan cheese
(slightly modified version of wanting kneading's recipe)

1/4 loving cup nutritional yeast flakes
1/3 loving cup raw cashews
i teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon order down dark pepper
i tablespoon olive oil

Combine all your ingredients inward a nutrient processor (we used the fiddling spice-grinding attachment on ours) in addition to whizz them together.
