Killiney Kopitiam

January 15, 2012
As Lygon St approaches Queensberry St, the Italian spruikers make agency to casual Asian eateries. One of the newer eateries is Killiney Kopitiam, an Aussie outpost of a Singaporean chain. It offers what I sympathize to hold upward the park make of kopitiam snacks, meals too drinks: toast, eggs, noodles, nasi lemak, coffee, tea too Milo.

Among them is a vegetarian laksa ($8.30). Michael wasn't likewise inspired past times the eggs too veges within, but the kokosnoot gravy was spicy too very, real tasty.

We liked the mutual coldness teh tarik ($3.30) likewise - sweetness too filling, amongst the bitter border of dark tea.

My pocket-size snack of kaya toast ($2.80) seemed to a greater extent than similar an accompaniment to the teh tarik than the other agency around!

The savoury card is dominated past times meat curries, though at that spot are a few eggy noodle dishes that await vegetarian-friendly (we didn't interrogate the staff most hidden shrimp glue thence piece of occupation along amongst caution.) The drinks too desserts await easier to navigate. We're no connoisseurs of the kopitiam tradition too can't vouch for Killiney's authenticity, but it's nifty to select this agency of eating theatre represented inwards the neighbourhood. I promise it brings the South-East Asians of Melbourne to a greater extent than joy too nostalgia than disappointment.
